Tim McLean

Tim McLean, Director of Renovations

Tim McLean is the Director of Renovations for Senior Lifestyle Design. Tim has worked in the senior living interior design field in several capacities throughout his career. In his current role, he oversees the day to day operations of a highly successful team of interior designers and project managers to complete a full range of property improvement projects, to complete building renovations. Tim believes in delivering the "WOW" factor for each and every project that our residents and employees live and work in, and the challenges that come with making that happen for each and every community. Tim holds an Associate Degree in business, having attended the University of Minnesota and Anoka Ramsey Community College.

Dena Erickson

Dena Erickson, Director of Interior Design

Dena Erickson joined the Senior Lifestyle Design team in 2005, in its first year and serves as the Director of Interior Design. Dena partners with clients in a shared vision to create beautiful senior living environments that support the active older adult lifestyle while promoting a strong sense of community. Design has a direct impact in creating culture and Dena's passion for design is fueled by the strategic balance of functionality and aesthetic appeal. Her entire design career is rooted in Senior Living and that knowledge and expertise elevates the talented team of designers that she leads. Dena takes a positive problem solving approach to each project and enjoys the collaboration among clients, developers, architectural partners, and contractors. From initial conceptual work through the procurement process, she is focused on the end result, a place for older adults to call home. Dena is a Certified Interior Designer and has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interior Design from Dakota County Technical College.

Laura Leuschen

Laura Leuschen, Interior Designer

Laura Leuschen is a Certified Interior Designer. Her passion for creating comforting spaces is what led her into the senior living design field. Laura began her studies at Iowa State University, majoring in Interior Design. Her academics led her to Rome for a semester. From her studies overseas, Laura came to understand that interior design is a universal language, which ties a person's emotions to their surroundings. Laura has an affinity for creating spaces that function with safety and mobility in mind, without compromising beauty and elegance. She believes in the idea of providing a warm, comforting space for her clients to make them feel at home.

Hannah Ferdelman

Hannah Ferdelman, Interior Designer

Hannah Ferdelman is an Interior Designer. She joined the SLD team in 2016, bringing years of senior living and healthcare design as well as some residential design based experience with her. Hannah is committed to designing beautiful, welcoming environments that are safe and functional for older adults to call their home. Passionate about design, Hannah most enjoys the overall experience one has when entering a well-designed space that not only engages an individual's senses but also provides a feeling of comfort with the appropriate use of color, texture, and scale. Hannah is dedicated to her continuing education and values the importance of implementing up to date senior living design practices by applying the knowledge she gains to her projects. She is currently in the process of becoming NCIDQ certified. Hannah holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of Wisconsin - Stout.

Caroline Porter

Caroline Porter, Interior Design Assistant

Caroline Porter is an Interior Design Assistant who works with other designers on the team to create beautiful and functional interiors. She believes that interior design affects everyone physically, emotionally, and psychologically each and every day. Spending 90 percent of our lives indoors, the design of those interior spaces play a large role in making our lives pleasant and livable. Caroline enjoys the creative design process each project brings. From concept to installation, seeing the design come to life in a space is the most fulfilling part of the process. Caroline holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of Wisonsin - Stout.

Courtney Jones

Courtney Jones, Interior Design Assistant

Courtney Jones is an Interior Design Assistant who collaborates with other designers to create spaces that aesthetically please and enhance the lives of those who use them. Courtney believes that design CREATES. It creates beauty, it creates conversation, it creates function, it creates community, and in the senior living field, it creates a home. She thrives in creative environments where she can collaborate with team members and see her visions brought to life. Courtney holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Iowa State University.

Jean Urman

Jean Urman, Senior Interiors Project Manager

Jean Urman is a Senior Interiors Project Manager who works with our design team to execute their design specifications start to finish, creating and managing interior budgets, placing and expediting product orders, installing at project sites, and working with construction and client teams to communicate needs and goals. With Senior Lifestyle Design since 2006, Jean has managed close to 30 of our large scale renovation and new construction projects, such as Johanna Shores and Carondelet Village, as well as smaller site-level projects and updates. Jean values her role in making beautiful homes for older adults, bringing creative problem solving skills and an eye for detail to her work. Jean holds a BA in Mathematics and Art from the College of St. Benedict.

Sheila Hansen

Sheila Hansen, Interiors Project Manager

Sheila Hansen is an Interiors Project Manger who works with the design team to coordinate project interiors budgeting, specifications, ordering, delivery and installation. Sheila believes that clear and respectful communication and a grateful attitude are keys to productive teamwork and successful project completion. Sheila has more that 25 years of project coordination experience in the senior living and hospitality furnishings industry. Sheila holds a BS degree in Business Administration from North Dakota State University.

Carla Gatto

Carla Gatto, Interiors Project Manager

Carla Gatto is an Interiors Project Manager who focuses on the cosmetic renovations of the Presbyterian Homes & Services communities as well as renovations with outside clients. Carla is instrumental in providing support by placing orders on miscellaneous and replacement interior furnishing items. She knows that her work is important because it effects the quality of life for our residents. Carla is always happy when she mentions where she works and hears very positive comments from family and friends of the residents of our communities. Carla has worked in the industry for many years and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts for the College of St. Benedict.

Paul Duncan

Paul Duncan, Project Manager Construction

As a Construction Project Manager, Paul Duncan focuses on managing renovation projects. He believes this work is crucial to ensuring our senior living communities continue to be places where people enjoy living and working. Paul is a military veteran. He also served as the Special Projects Coordinator for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Paul has worked for Presbyterian Homes & Services since 2009 as a Maintenance Engineer and then as an Environmental Services Director. Paul holds an Associate Degree in Transportation from Hennepin Technical College.

Dustin Sayre, Construction Project Manager

Dustin Sayre has served over a decade in the development and construction industries for senior housing. Dustin's current role as Construction Project Manager allows him to oversee and lead the construction process for our renovation projects. Dustin manages the financial and accounting process including accounts receivable and accounts payable. He is energized by facilitating meetings and partnering with internal and external project teams. Dustin develops and maintains key management reports as well as establishing a consistent set of systems, processes, practices and process flows. Dustin received a Bachelor of Science in General Business and a Minor in Biblical Studies from the University of Northwestern St. Paul, a Certificate Degree in Construction Management from the University of Minnesota, a Masters in Real Estate, and is currently working on a Masters in Finance from Bellevue University.
